The small town of Saucier, Mississippi, is grappling with shock and grief following the disappearance and tragic death of 6-year-old Gracelyn Vick on Sunday afternoon.
According to family reports, Gracelyn had gone out to play in her yard around noon but failed to return. When hours passed without any sign of her, her concerned family contacted authorities. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office quickly mobilized an urgent search operation, assisted by nearby law enforcement, Gulf Coast Search and Rescue, helicopters, drones, and approximately 40 local volunteers.
Heartbreakingly, Gracelyn’s body was found later that evening near her family’s property. Law enforcement officers cordoned off sections of the family’s land, including areas around a swing set and livestock enclosures, meticulously gathering evidence throughout the night. Gracelyn’s body was transported from the scene around 8 p.m., as reported by WLOX
